Description

Pastor Dinkins provides us both encouragement and a challenge that during this fast, we have an opportunity for full liberation - to be delivered and freed from our personal "mess" - where our sins keep us enslaved from doing all that God has planned for us.  We cannot be used for God's glory when we are caught up in ourselves, when we fail to make God our priority,  lacking a proper mindset that is focused on God's purpose for us.

Our fast is an incredible opportunity to seek God fully, to seek His power in praying for wisdom and guidance on behalf of our church, seeking God's direction for what we as a church should be doing in evangelistic, benevolence and overall outreach endeavors.  Fasting will allow us to overcome our strongholds, leaning on God to provide us the breakthroughs in our lives that we so strongly desire.  We must fast the right way - not for vanity, weight loss, just to say you are fasting, but with a sincere heart, a hunger to spend quality time with God and to hear from Him on our situations.  No matter what we are going through, we will overcome because He who is in us is greater than he who is in the world.
