Description

********ENCORE******* Memorial Day Service from 2012***********************Enjoy!!

One of the hardest things we can do in this life is loving those that hate us, those who want to destroy us, those who wish nothing but pain and hurt in our lives.  No matter how bad the situation, Jesus sets the standard that we are to love our enemies as we love ourselves.  Jesus loved those that despised Him and sought to kill Him.  He prayed for his enemies as they flogged him and nailed Him to the cross.  There is no other more powerful example of love and forgiving your enemies than what Jesus demonstrated for us.

Lets be clear - No one said turning the other cheek is easy - it is extremely hard; however, as Christians, as a followers of Christ, we are held to this standard of non-retailation.   We are to do good to enemies, no matter how bad they may treat us.  Jesus says that when you treat these enemies with kindness, you heap "coals of fire on their foreheads". We must proceed with loving when the world says we are to hate and seek revenge towards those who have hurt us.  GOD tells us that vengeance is His and that we are to yield to HIm in dealing with our enemies.

Pray for strength, maturity, wisdom as you seek GOD's strength to love your enemies.  It is only through GOD that this type of love can beem exemplified.
